Fall is here in full force, which means the holidays are just around the corner. I mean, blink, and they’ll be here!
With the fall season comes a transition to spending more time indoors, and for me that means there is more time to notice all of that clutter around the house. I mean, where does it all come from?

Getting personal with you for a minute, just the other night, I found myself with an incredibly short fuse. It’s not something I’m proud of, but I took a minute to pause and think about what I’m actually even mad about. Do you know what it was? A messy house. Yep, the visual clutter all around me has been overwhelming my senses and increasing my stress.
The funny thing about this, it’s totally something that I can control! And you know what? It sounds like you related to this a lot more than I expected. Enter: the Chaos to Cozy Fall Decluttering Challenge! Special thank you to those of you who helped me choose the name. 🙂
My goal is to keep this process simple, and as stress free as possible. Full disclosure – it might be emotional, as we’re going to be parting ways with items that we may have been holding onto for quite some time. Please know, it’s perfectly normal and totally okay to feel all the feelings. Maybe try saying a little thank you to whatever the item is you are choosing to part with. That always seems to help me.
The Plan
We are going to spend the next 5 weeks going through our home space by space, room by room. I think if we take one week to work on specific areas of our home, it will feel a bit less daunting of a task. This will take us right up to mid November, just in time for the madness of the holiday season!
Week 5: Linen and Coat Closets
That’s it! We’re done. Go ahead and bask in the glory of a simple, clutter-free home. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! Remember, our homes should be a sanctuary from the chaos of the world, not something that adds to our already stressful lives. Let’s fall in love with our homes again!
Make sure you’re following along on IG, @katedunnco as we work through our simplifying journey together 🙂
