Welcome to week 2 of the Chaos to Cozy Fall Decluttering Challenge.

How did week 1 go for you? I pretty much never want to leave my bedroom right now. It is so calm and peaceful, and tidy! In fact, I’m sitting here writing to you from my bedroom right now. I pulled up a chair to the dresser and now I have the perfect WFH space, ha. Our bedroom should be a retreat from the chaotic world we live in – in fact, our whole home should feel that way and we will get there.
This week, we are working on bathrooms.
I’ve attached a checklist of things to go through to help you get started. We each have items that may be unique to us, so it’s important to note that this is not a comprehensive list and it’s important to go through everything in your space.

A few things to note as you work through your space:
- make separate piles for donations, recycle, toss, and resell
- ask yourself,
- why am I holding onto this?
- would I buy this again?
- do I need this for the season of life I’m in right now?
- do I wear or use this regularly, or has it been at least a year?
- if the item is seasonal, can I store it efficiently elsewhere?
- is the item expired?
- make it a goal to keep flat surfaces clear, unless it truly belongs there
- everything needs to have a home, somewhere to be put away
If you’re struggling with getting rid of something, try to remember that things are just things, and they do not make you YOU. Your things do not define you. If you’re questioning it, then you probably don’t need it.
There is so much freedom on the other side of decluttering. More time to do the things you truly love to do. So take this week, and take your time to work on decluttering your bathrooms. If you feel motivated, or have the extra time – go ahead and tackle the linen closet or the laundry room while you’re at it.
If you have questions, or need support – you can always email me here, or reach out to me on IG @katedunnco. Feel free to tag me on social, or use the hashtag #fallchaostocozychallenge – we are all in this together! Let’s do this!
Happy simplifying!
