A Look Back on 2018

January 11, 2019

You guys, how is it already January of 2019? That means that Classically Dunn has been up and running for almost a year now! And what a year it has been. From new projects and DIYs, to a job change, to news that we will be adding a baby to the mix this Spring – it’s been one heck of a year and we have so much to be thankful for! Let’s take a look back on the first year at Classically Dunn, shall we?

Noteworthy Events
  • Found out we will become parents to a sweet little baby boy in Spring of 2019.
  • Started on our nursery design – full reveal coming soon!
  • Put a new roof on the house, that explains why there wasn’t much budget for major interior renovations. One of those things that is so important, but drives me nuts because you can’t really see it! I do sleep better at night knowing we aren’t going to spring a leak with all of the PNW rain we get. Someday we’ll get to that dream kitchen 🙂
  • Started a new job at an office closer to home (for those of you who don’t know, I am a dental hygienist in my other life).
  • Picked out new art for our dining room from MINTED.
  • Brought home our first fiddle leaf fig. You can read my tips for fiddle leaf fig care HERE.
Before and Afters
  • Bathroom Makeover – Painted our dated bathroom vanity white and changed the light fixture. I still wonder why we waited so long to do that! You can read the full post HERE.

LIGHT FIXTURE | SHELVES
  • Fireplace Makeover – Painted the tile on our family room fireplace surround white to cover up that awful beige tile – it’s still not perfect, but I’ve got some fun plans in mind for this year.
  • Coffee Table Makeover – Gave an old college era coffee/side table a fresh coat of paint for a nice farmhouse look. You can read the full post HERE.

Aside from all of the fun projects we worked on, it has been most rewarding connecting with you, my readers. I would prefer to call you guys my friends if that’s alright with you. When I started this blog nearly a year ago, I had no idea the community I would find in the blogging world and on Instagram. You inspire me daily and it’s your encouragement that keeps me going!

I’ll be sharing a full blog post soon regarding my plans for the next year so stay tuned for that. But for now, I simply want to say, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for following along on this journey of mine. It has been rewarding in ways that I never would have expected and I am so grateful for each and every one of you!

Xo,

Katie
