Chaos to Cozy Week 3: Living Spaces

How did your bathroom decluttering go? I don’t know about you, but it feels so nice to have a clean, organized bathroom again. If you missed it, you can catch up on bathroom decluttering here.

One of my girlfriends reached out asking if I wanted her to order me another lip balm that we love and I told her no – I didn’t want anything “extra” to my freshly decluttered  vanity drawers! Haha.

This week, we are working on living spaces.

I’ve attached a checklist of things to go through to help you get started. We each have items that may be unique to us, so it’s important to note that this is not a comprehensive list and it’s important to go through everything in your space.

A few things to remember as you work through your space:

  • make separate piles for donations, recycle, toss, and resell
  • ask yourself,
    • why am I holding onto this?
    • would I buy this again?
    • do I need this for the season of life I’m in right now?
    • do I use this regularly or is it collecting dust?
  • make it a goal to keep flat surfaces clear, unless it truly belongs there
  • everything needs to have a home, somewhere to be put away

If you’re struggling with getting rid of something, try to remember that things are just things, and they do not make you YOU. Your things do not define you. If you’re questioning it, then you probably don’t need it.

There is so much freedom on the other side of decluttering. More time to do the things you truly love to do. So take this week, and take your time to work on decluttering your living spaces.

Happy Simplifying!

xx,

Katie
