Alright friends, it’s time for part two of my Shop the Home Room Refresh two part series! This time it’s with a master bedroom refresh. Back in March, we added vertical shiplap to our master bedroom. Let me tell you – game changer! It adds just the right amount of interest that the space had been lacking.
Speaking of lacking, this room needed a pair of nightstands in a major way. Since move in (3+ years ago), we were using a stool on my side and a nightstand that was part of a bedroom set from Casey’s bachelor days on the other. While I did love the stool, it just wasn’t functional. So, much like our living room refresh seen HERE, I decided to shop the house!
Here is where we started in March…
Our guest room hasn’t been used since last summer, so I thought – why not see how the nightstands look in the master bedroom? After all, the rug has already been stolen anyway. Well, spoiler alert – sorry guest bedroom, these nightstands aren’t coming back anytime soon! The lamps probably aren’t coming back either, ha!
This simple swap has made the master bedroom more functional, and it’s still a win because the guest room gets the cute stool. I definitely got lucky here. Rather than spending more money, thinking a little outside the box paid off!
I’ve gotten several questions about our nightstands – these are from Wayfair, you can find them HERE. I swapped the plastic hardware they come with for THESE brass pulls from Amazon! So much better!
Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but if I were to go back and start over, I would absolutely decorate our most used spaces first. I was about to say “finish” instead of decorate, but I believe our styles and tastes are always evolving, so nothing is ever truly finished.

Love everything about this room, what color are the other wall painted??? The same alabaster too?
The nursery is BM Chantilly Lace and the rest of the house hasn’t been painted since we moved in, so I’m unsure of the exact color. It is VERY close to BM White Dove! π
I mean in this room are the other walls the same color as the shiplap?
Yes! Everything in this room is the same BM Alabaster, all walls, shiplap and ceiling π
